Be Well to Perform With Excellence and Achieve Your Goals. By Dr. K.C. Wilder

“The point of a story is to cultivate, if not wisdom in the conduct of life, then at least in the instruction in living.”-L. Cochran

Elite athletes often come to work with me to win a National Championship, Gold Medal, or to get into a D-1 school. These are all outcome goals. Outcome goals that I wholeheartedly support. Once we define these outcome goals, we revisit their foundation of being well. And, our focus in our first five sessions remains on being well through daily routines and rituals that address their mind, body and spirit.

Let’s look closer at what being well means. Being well means that an athlete has focus, clarity, energy, courage and the self-discipline to consistently do the right work, day in and day out. Being well is also a huge part of an athlete’s story. Their story or journey is the most powerful practice that catapults their level of performance on game, tournatment or race day.

When an athlete can consistently feel present in their training their concentration and confidence is uplifted. Once uplifted and they can “be well” with intention an athlete has greater vision, hope, inspiration and confidence. These athletes are now writing their story, sustaining high levels of confidence and clarity, and it moves them to live the life they are meant to live.
